Charles R. Ullman & Associates are delighted to announce the 2019 Scholarship Contest Winners. Each year Charles R. Ullman & Associates sponsor students with free prize monies to enable them to excel in their educational studies. The contest is open to High School students as well as students at colleges and graduate school programmes throughout the United States.
The attorneys at Charles R. Ullman & Associates understand the importance of education and the financial strain that books, tuition, and other educational expenses can put on both students and their families. To help with educational costs, Charles R. Ullman & Associates is offering three scholarships which will be awarded to three winning contestants to help those students further their education.
The topic that Charles R. Ullman & Associates chose this year for their annual scholarship essay contest is one of high sensitivity and delicacy that has come up in the news quite often this past year. The following is the topic the students were asked to write about, which included three significant questions:
- How can men become allies for the MeToo movement?
- What can men do to make victims of harassment more comfortable about speaking out?
- How do you think the movement has changed work and social environments?
Charles R. Ullman & Associates state that the #MeToo movement intended to give a voice to the silenced and interestingly, the campaign had previously been created to strengthen women’s voices, but it is now amplifying the voices of men. The silencing, in a different, less obvious form, continues.
Charles R. Ullman & Associates reveal the winners of the 2019 Scholarship Contest are:
- First Place – Preethi Konduri
- Second Place – Allyson Stuart Heath
- Third Place – Kiknaja J. Jones
Charles R. Ullman & Associates mention that the 2019 scholarship winners argued numerous essential points in their winning essays, how the MeToo movement was founded and how it spread across social media platforms with support from many female celebrities.
Also, in the winning essays, the contestants discuss the goal of the MeToo Movement which is to help young women and girls from the effects of sexual violence, as well as to highlight the fact that men can be allies to the MeToo movement if they promote a society that respects women. As MeToo comes from small incidents of disrespect and by condoning them.
Similarly, the related hashtag #HimToo has become quite popular alongside the #MeToo movement. The HimToo movement, just like the MeToo movement, aims to emphasize male victims of sexual harassment and abuse, and others using it to emphasize male perpetrators. He too became used by supporters of Kavanaugh and to highlight male victims of false accusations.
Charles R. Ullman & Associates firmly believe in giving back to the community. The Law Firm is proud of the 2019 scholarship winners as well as all the contestants who entered the scholarship essay contest. Charles R. Ullman & Associates hope that this scholarship contest will continue to motivate more young people for years to come and that they start to think about the change they wish to see happen in the near future.
