Active Building Centre seeks to revolutionise the way the UK designs, constructs and operates buildings. They plan to do this by focusing on the potential for the integration of innovative renewable energy generation and storage technologies, coupled with state-of-the-art digital design.

The Active Building Centre has many aims that they plan to fulfil. One of their objectives is to deliver a pipeline of Active Building demonstrators and projects. Active Buildings are designed to be energy efficient, with numerous ways of controlling and releasing energy. These buildings have the potential to be energy self-sufficient and, when connected with other Active Buildings in a network, could have the ability to trade energy.
