LaserCare Eye Center was the first LASIK center in Dallas Texas to offer ReLEx SMILE (Small Incision Lenticule Extraction) eye surgery a gentle, precise, and flapless vision correction procedure. The procedure uses one laser
The SMILE procedure uses a Zeiss VisuMax® femtosecond laser that was approved for use in the US by the FDA in 2015. The laser device had been used worldwide since 2006 and more than 2 million surgeries have been performed.
SMILE surgery is a minimally invasive vision correction procedure that uses a laser to create a lenticule in the intact cornea and removed via a small incision by the surgeon. Some of the benefits of SMILE surgery include mall incision of less than 4 mm means no flap, potentially lower incidence of transient dry eye syndrome and less nerve transection thanks to smallest of incisions without flaps, less risk of infections and epithelial ingrowths, reproducibility of the lenticule, irrespective of individual corneal characteristics and ambient conditions, and excellent predictability, particularly for higher refraction values.
Also, LaserCare Eye Center offers cataract surgery. The procedure begins with the doctors performing a comprehensive eye examination to evaluate the cataract and general health of the eye.
